Vi inleder med en omslutande lyssningssession – en möjlighet att uppleva ljud och skapandet av ljud som medvetna former av utforskande och intervention. Du får ta del av ett antal ljudverk av konstnären Silas Lilo Jensen, som undersöker hur kroppen kan göra motstånd mot normativa strukturer och återta sin egen berättelse. Sitt, ligg eller stå som du vill – lyssna, känn och uppmärksamma det som uppstår.
I programmets andra del möter Silas Lilo Jensen konstnären MC Coble och Erika Alm, professor i genusvetenskap, i en livepodd. Tillsammans fördjupar de sig i teman från ljudverken, såsom att navigera vårdsystem genom transkroppar, att göra motstånd mot ett redan dikterat manus för vad “normalt” liv och perception innebär, samt hur utrymme kan skapas för komplexa och normbrytande liv.
Publikens reflektioner, frågor och interaktioner är välkomna. Samtalet spelas in och redigeras i efterhand till ett poddavsnitt som delas via konstnärens plattformar.
Silas Lilo Jensen (den/hen) är en konstnär som arbetar utifrån en neuroqueer position. Hens praktik undersöker kroppspolitik, vårdsystem och transliv genom förkroppsligat lyssnande och soniska interventioner.
Gäster:
Erika Alm (den/hen) är forskare i genusvetenskap och har studerat historiska och samtida diskurser kring kön. Hen är engagerad i Trans- och Intersexstudier som verktyg för social förändring.
MC Coble (den/hen) är en icke-binär trans*-konstnär som arbetar för att synliggöra dolda historier och samtida angelägenheter hos marginaliserade grupper, icke-mänskliga arter och deras samexistens.
Om utställningen
Göteborgs Konsthall har samarbetat med konsthögskolan HDK-Valand sedan 1925, då de första avgångsstudenterna ställde ut på Götaplatsen. I år, när konsthallen inväntar sina nya lokaler i Slakhusområdet, kretsar samarbetet i stället kring en programserie som tar formen av panelsamtal, filmvisningar och ljudupplevelser. Tillsammans med inbjudna gäster fördjupar vi oss i frågeställningar kring tid och perception, kroppspolitik, konstnärliga strategier för motstånd och synliggörande av konflikter.
Programpunkterna tar spjärn i studenternas verk i examensutställningen A Temporary Constellation. Både utställningen och programpunkterna genomförs i konsthögskolans egna lokaler.

Join a listening session exploring sound as intervention, followed by a live podcast on queer resistance in art with artists Silas Lilo Jensen, MC Coble and gender researcher Erika Alm.
We begin with an immersive listening session – an opportunity to experience sound and the act of sounding as deliberate forms of exploration and intervention. You will hear a selection of sonic works by the artist Silas Lilo Jensen, that investigate how the body can resist normative structures and reclaim its own narrative. Sit, lie down, or stand as you wish – and listen, sense, and attend to what arises.
In the second part of the program, the artist Silas Lilo Jensen will be joined by artist MC Coble and gender studies professor Erika Alm in a live podcast. They will unpack the themes of the sound works, which may include navigating healthcare in trans bodies, resisting the ”script” of ”normal” life and perception, the subject of making space for complex, non-conforming lives, along with related concerns that surface in the moment.
Audience reflections, questions, and interactions are welcome during the live talk. The conversation will be recorded and later edited into a podcast episode to be shared on the artist’s platforms.
Silas Lilo Jensen (they/them) is an artist working from a neuroqueer position. Their practice investigates body politics, healthcare systems, and trans life through embodied listening and sonic interventions.

Erika Alm (they/them), researcher in Gender Studies, has studied historical and contemporary discourses on sex and gender, and is committed to Trans and Intersex studies as vehicles of social change.
MC Coble (they/them) is a non-binary trans* artist seeking to make visible the hidden histories and contemporary urgencies of marginalized communities, non-human species and their co-existence.
About the exhibition
Göteborgs Konsthall has collaborated with the art academy HDK-Valand since 1925, when the first graduating students exhibited at Götaplatsen. This year, as Göteborgs Konsthall awaits a new building in Slakthusområdet, the collaboration instead revolves around a series of public events including panel discussions, film screenings and listening sessions. Together with invited guests, we explore ideas of time and perception, body politics, artistic strategies of dissidence and representation of conflict.
The series of public events draw on the students’ works in the graduation show A Temporary Constellation. Both the exhibition and the program series are held at HDK-Valand’s premises.
