Gabo Camnitzer is an artist and teacher who works with experimental pedagogy, installation and video.
At the time of writing 2022, he is a resident artist at the Queens Museum in New York.
Camnitzer’s work revolves around issues of education and knowledge exchange. It is often with a focus on childhood as a place for exploring social structures that surround and shape subjectivity. Camnitzer is an Assistant Professor of Social Practice and Director of the Foundations Program at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, USA. He has previously taught at the elementary school level in New York. He received his Master’s degree in free art from Valand Academy of the Arts in Gothenburg, and has participated in the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York.
