Olof Marsja presents four pieces from the series A Solitary Flower’s Dream of the Past. These sculptures grew from an idea of a character who has lost its memory and lives in a world of perpetual day.

In the constant sunlight, the figure starts fantasising about the past, imagining how they came on skis across the tundra when the ice age receded, looking for land where they could settle and build a home.

The four sculptures blend the delicate with coarseness. Bits of old Gore-Tex rain clothes, scarves and other textiles cover their bodies, which are made of acrylic plaster. Fragile, face-like, handmade glass flowers sprout from their bodies.
