of Grief
Larissa Sansour (b. 1973 in East Jerusalem) is a Danish-Palestinian artist who works with photography, video art, sculptural objects, and installations. She is particularly interested in how memories and traumas are inherited and passed down through generations.
Sansour was educated in Copenhagen, London, and New York and has been featured in solo exhibitions in New York, Copenhagen, Umeå, Istanbul, and Paris. She has participated in the Istanbul Biennial, the Busan Biennale in South Korea, and the Liverpool Biennial, as well as in group exhibitions at Tate Modern, the Brooklyn Museum, Centre Georges Pompidou, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and Louisiana. In 2019, she represented Denmark at the Venice Biennale with the work Heirloom, which included the video piece In Vitro.
Larissa Sansour lives in London and has been collaborating closely with philosopher and writer Søren Lind for many years.
Larissa Sansour is featured in the exhibition Indigo is the Color of Grief, which will be on display at Göteborgs Konsthall from October 4, 2024, to January 12, 2025.
