Josefina Björk (b. 1985) is an artist and director from Skövde. Björk is educated at Akademin Valand and Norwegian Theater Academy and works with dilemmas about how our contemporary culture and its mechanisms affect our opportunities to feel community, rapture and trust.
The works comes in the form of staged situations where the audience participates actively, such as a witch circle where the audience is invited to explore their emotional spells, a dance floor in the white cube that changes shape when observed or a headphone that choreographs the participant’s movement through the room.
Björk has created works for, among others: MDT, Riksteatrn, Röda stens konsthall, Inkonst and Skogen. In addition to his artistic practice, Björk is involved in running the art platform Ställbergs mine in an old iron ore mine in Bergslagen and teaches performance at Gerlesborgsskolan.
